Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Producer Asit Kumarr Modi on Disha Vakani's Return as Daya
Yesterday, fans of the popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah were elated when the show's makers, led by Asit Kumarr Modi, unveiled a new Tapu, portrayed by actor Nitish Bhulani, to replace Raj Anadkat.
The announcement was made during a press conference, which also saw Dilip Joshi, who plays the character of Jethalal, reveal that he misses the on-screen chemistry between Jethalal and Dayaben, played by Disha Vakani.
Actress Disha's Permanent Exit from Hit TV Show Due to Maternity Break
It has been several years since Disha left the show, having gone on a maternity break back in 2017. Despite repeated negotiations with the makers, it seems that the actress has permanently said goodbye to the character and is now focusing on her personal life.
During the press conference, Asit Kumarr Modi addressed the possibilities of Disha's return, but stated that it would be difficult as the team has tried to work things out with her on multiple occasions, to no avail.

When asked about the situation, Dilip Joshi stated that it is ultimately up to the makers to decide whether to replace Dayaben with a new actor or not. However, as an actor, he expressed his longing for the character of Daya and the humorous scenes between Daya and Jetha that have been missing since Disha's departure.
He also acknowledged that viewers have noticed the absence of their chemistry. Despite the challenges, both Dilip Joshi and Asit Kumarr Modi remain positive, leaving fans hopeful for what the future may hold.
